In the Grasp of the Starving Dead is Cryptborn's first release and it's definitely worth a few listens, especially for fans of slower, filthier, doom-tinged OSDM. The emphasis here is on the low, classic Swedish riffs and, while there's nothing new here, it's still an excellent preview into what yet another one of Dark Descents' upcoming old school death metal bands will have to offer in the future.

Here it is, one of the most anticipated OSDM releases of 2011 and it absolutely slays. The Tomb Awaits is chock-full of massive, overwhelming riffs as well as incredible production and mixing (again, by Dan Swanö), and it is every bit as good as their debut, if not better. This is a must have for 2011.

I'm Back...

For a multitude of reasons, of which school being the most significant, I haven't been able to devote much time to the Vault but I'm back now and I intend on posting on a regular basis again. I thank all those who stayed followers during my hiatus as well as those who have joined since. I will do my best to make your wait worthwhile.

To kick things off, here's the teaser for Entrails' new album, The Tomb Awaits, due out this week and it has me very excited. If this video is anything to go by, it should be an excellent follow-up to one of my favorite OSDM albums of 2010. Enjoy.
